Hi! I’m Lindsey! I’m a mom, a wife, an animal lover, creative at heart, baking enthusiast, lover of people and making memories.
After graduating college I began a career as a meeting planner in the medical device world. I loved my coworkers and never thought about being a stay at home mom. I had lunch dates, happy hours, I’d run errands by myself, I had a life outside my home. I felt like I was a contributor to my family.
While being a full time mom of two with one on the way, I wondered how all these working moms kept everything moving at home. Healthy meals for their family, Pinterest projects for their kids, school assignments, taxi schedules…How did they do it all? I was going to start a blog called “The Perfect Housewife” (as a working mom), and document all my discoveries!
Two months later we find out we are transferring for my husband’s job…and instantly became a “Stay At Home Mom”….a title I had never thought about or pictured myself being. I was a go-getter and got value out of my accomplishments that had a paycheck attached.
This was our first move as a family, we had lived in the same city for 10 years. I lived in the same city my whole life growing up…moving was not something I knew how to do. It was hard. Leaving our friends and family was hard, leaving our schools and daycares was hard, leaving everything we knew was hard…but hardest for me was becoming a stay at home mom overnight.
I decided an Instagram account would give me a “purpose” and a way to track my recipes to make it easier on me. It would be my reference. And give me something to look forward to as my “job”. I then realized after a few years that my Instagram was no longer manageable with all my posts. And that a formal blog was necessary to keep it organized and easy to find!
I am not a writer, I am a do’er . So blogging didn’t seem to be the right choice for me. But after a few years, I have come to realize I have things I could share with other moms beginning their journeys “staying home”. It’s an emotional roller coaster and takes time to figure out your processes but once you do, life gets easier and you can really enjoy the time with your family.
Enjoying your family by NOT doing EVERYTHING, but doing what is important to you!
