I have suddenly become a mom of all stages, with a daughter graduating this May, middle school orientation upon us, and my last years in elementary school, sure feels like we are all over the place. When they say the days are long and the years are short, they aren’t kidding. I’m aging faster by the day and currently trying to find myself again before I’m an empty nester and have lost myself completely.
It took me awhile to understand that being a “Mom” was enough. That my kids were my job and although I didn’t get a paycheck, raising them to go into this world as good humans knowing they were loved like crazy was the best opportunity I had ever been given.
I am constantly coming up with ideas and activities to make them spend time with me. And although there are times I want to give up the battle, it’s always worth the fight, to hear them say they had fun when all is said and done!
May you be inspired to make some good ole family fun with yours! A crowded house or car on Friday night is my kind of fun! My daughter recently told me her favorite thing about our family, is coming home to see who our house guests are and what fun we are having- loud, messy, and full of good food is the way we like our home these days!
